02.06 - dzień 8 | 06/02 - Day 8

Wyjechaliśmy z Flagstaff i pojechaliśmy do Walnut Canyon. To taki kanion, w którym kiedyś mieszkali ludzie, robili sobie jamy - pokoje i żyli na zboczu góry. Całkiem ok jak na ciekawostkę i nie za dużo chodzenia. Po zejściu do Kanionu zakwasy mieliśmy przez kolejne 3 dni.. :) W sumie w dwie strony zrobiliśmy ok. 20km!

We left Flagstaff and headed for the Walnut Canyon. It's a canyon that used to be inhibited by people who made their lairs and houses on the sides of the mountains. It was quite interesting and, luckily, didn't require too much of walking. We were still sore after the 20-kilometer-hike in Grand Canyon!

Co jakiś czas tablice informacyjne, myślę, że fajna atrakcja dla dzieci, bo w punkcie turystycznym biorą zestaw pytań, na które szukają odpowiedzi, a później składają przysięgę obrońcy przyrody, czy coś w tym stylu :P

Every once in a while, there were interesting information boards, especially good for children who can take a set of questions from the tourist point and then they can search for the answers within the park. Later on they can sign up to become Junior Rangers.

Mimo że długo tam nie chodziliśmy, mocno chciało się pić, a takie zimne na dodatek.. mm :)
Although we didn't walk for long, we were really thirsty, especially for that cold drink :-)

Dalej pojechaliśmy do Sedony (Oak Creek). Piękne widoczki, dużo możliwości postojów po drodze, pewnie zwiedzanie też tam było jakieś... ;) Sedona podobno jest znana z tego, że przebywają tam i mieszkają sławne osoby, np aktorzy. Nikogo nie widzieliśmy.. albo nie znaliśmy :D

Our next stop was Sedona (Oak Creek). Beautiful landscapes, lots of places to pull over and enjoy the view. Sedona is said to host many celebrities, but we didn't see anybody famous, or we just didn't recognize them :-D

Podjechaliśmy do centrum i zjedliśmy obiad w knajpce meksykańskiej. Bardzo smaczne było, takie prawdziwe meksykańskie żarełko :) Pochodziliśmy po sklepach i z jednego wyszliśmy z taką wężową pamiątką... (oczywiście to nie jest prawdziwy grzechotnik).

We drove into the center of the town and had a lunch in a Mexican restaurant. It was delicious, a true Mexican cuisine. :-) We also did some shopping, and bought a rattle snake bottle holder souvenir :-) It only looks so real.

Wjechaliśmy dalej na Route 66 i znaleźliśmy się w Kingman. Ku naszej radości, a szczególnie Wiktora, który uważał, że Route 66 to nie istnieje i tych znaczków nie ma.. :P takie oto cudeńko znajdowało się na drodze :)

We carried on the Route 66 and found ourselves in the city of Kingman. We were glad (and Wiktor was surprised) to discover these Route 66 signs. Here's a beauty we found on the road :-)

Zainteresowała nas ta knajpka, chcieliśmy zjeść coś takiego typowego amerykańskiego, jak w filmach...
This bar seemed interesting, especially that we were looking for something typical of the American cuisine, just like in the movies...

... jak i cheeseburgery z frytkami.. Pyyycha! Takie jakby domowe, świeże.. I sposób podania :)

With these delicious cheeseburgers and fries! Yummy! Tasted wonderful, fresh, like home made. And the way of serving it, great :-)

 Zaczęliśmy szukać miejsca do spania. Było dużo róznych moteli, na przykład taki :)
We started looking for a place to sleep. There were some motels around, such as this one for example :-)

Ale skończyło się na starym dobrym Rodeway Inn, za $42. Mieliśmy ambitny plan wstać wyjątkowo wcześnie i wyjechać na Route 66!
We ended up in the old good Rodeway Inn, for just $42 a night. The ambitious plan was to get up as early as possible and hit Route 66! :-D
